    Hi All

Iam looking to buy my OH a gift voucher which would entitle him +1 to a round of golf.

I looked at the K Club but it is far too expensive. What are peoples opinions on Carton House? He is not an excellent golfer but he seems to be good and enjoys it.

Would this be a good course to send him to for the day with his Dad/Mate?

    Thanks
    RG x

You have a choice of two courses there, both quality courses. In my opinion though the Montgomery course is far superior. Price wise I think they are the same so one voucher should give them the choice.

    A nice gift.

    Hi F22

    Thanks for your reply.

I hope he likes it. Would you have to be a really good golfer to play the Montgomery course or could you still play it if your average?

Average will do fine, he will definitely enjoy it.

I'm not a great golfer (a struggling 18) but I have played the Montgomerie course and thought it was magic. If your other half isn't an excellent golfer though and just wants to enjoy his round, rather than possibly struggle the whole day, the O'Meara may be more forgiving and enjoyable...

    They're both excellent courses though!:D

Monty course is not too difficult but if one gets into too many bunkers (which is a strong possibility!), then some poeple tend not to enjoy. The rough is not as bad as it used to be, well cut back now.

O'Meara is much more forgiving and the three water holes are very pretty.

But for challenge and condition, Monty gets the nod from me!

Thanks, I have just checked and you can actually decide when you are booking your times what course you wanna do, so maybe I can leave that up to him to decide, cause I will prob book the wrong one. At least he has a choice now.

Thanks Guys, cause I hate to admit I really know nothing about golf.
