Mats for drilling grappling at home

I've been doing BJJ for about 2 months training twice a week at the gym. I do it with someone I live with so I was looking for a mat to do drills at home on, maybe some light rolling but mainly for just drilling techniques on the days we don't train at the gym. We wouldn't be doing takedowns or throws, it'd all be ground work.

I went around sports shops in Limerick and they'd some small yoga/excercise mats but they strongly recommended in the shop not to use them for grappling on- though they didn't seem to understand that I meant grappling BJJ not WWE style wrestling me thinks given the reaction I got! I would like something a bit more heavy duty but if anyones got any experience with these it'd be great to share!

What mats would ye recommend or do ye use for home? I've heard that mats for kids play pens are alright for this kinda of application?

This is a question which has been asked here a few times.

A few lads have found the jig-saw play mats on sale in the likes of Smiths Toy Stores pretty good.

Barry Oglesby posted up about some rubber underlay he was using - I can't remember the exact details, sorry.

Cool I'll give both the kids mats and the co-op stuff a look next time I'm around town.
