Loading software on an iMac

    Hello again.:)

Just a quick question for the experienced Mac users. I'm having an issue loading some software. For example, I'm trying to load Canon Software at the minute, and the Mac OS doesn't recognise the disk.

If I look at it through Windows 7 I can see it in 'My Computer'.

Now, you'll appreciate I'm a novice, and coming from an exclusively Windows background. How do I access the Drive in Mac OS? The setup file doesn't show on the desktop, and I can't see it in finder (it is a Mac setup disk BTW).

I also cannot eject the disk sometimes (have to go into Windows to do it). Bit of a nuisance, but nothing major.

I've Googled, but to no avail.

    All help appreciated!

    Cheers,

    Freddie.

How are you accessing Windows? Bootcamp or Parallels/VMWare? Because if you have a virtual machine running it usually controls the optical drive and prevents OS X access to it. You either need to turn off the virtual machine or find the "disconnect cd/dvd" option in its menu/settings.

    Ahhhh!!

    Thank you!

    Spot on my friend!

    Many thanks.

I had thought about that earlier, but discounted it.

    Another lesson learnt!:)

Could I ask for help. I got a new Ipad 3 weks ago, logged on and reg in o2. but cant get connected. It keeps telling me

If I put APN settings as Internet as per Flywheel
Could not connect cellular data network. Not registered

If I put APN settings as open.internet as advised by O2
Could not connect cellular data network. PDP Authentication failure.

I checked with O2 they say I am registered ok.

I am pulling my hair out at this stage, can anyone advise what I am doing wrong. Tried Apple helpline, they say ist o2, and o2 help line asy its Apple

Bring the iPad into an O2 store with the O2 settings you were provided with and make them set it up for you.

I know this is for the UK but the setup steps should be the same, just different APN, Password, etc:

JohnDBoy, you would probably get more views and possible responses if you start a new topic, rather than tagging onto a completely different thread. You may also want to post in the Apple Media Devices forum instead:

As most iPad owners probably post there instead. There is a sticky there with the APN settings for the various networks too, but I'm not sure if these apply to the iPad - I believe they should, it's very unlikely that the iPad would need any different settings over any 3G phone on O2:
