Took a very horibble fall at the last fence at killarney tonight
and according to sporting life is dead :(.
Looked like he was about to win the race aswell.
Its a cruel game at times.
Was an old favourite of mine.

    Was a horrible fall.

Had it backed but was too gutted that the horse died to care about the money. Great horse will never forget that Champion Bumper win.

I saw the race in the bookies,as soon as it fell you could tell it wasn't going to be good news.

Looked terrible and there were plenty of racegoers at the last fence. Hope none were newcomers to the sport as would have been very distressing. RIP.

Jesus that was a shocking fall. Very upset about that. He looked so enthusiastic throughout the race and deserved better than that.

Condolances to connections and fans. I can see shy that horse may have had a following. A real shame, especially as he still had much of his ability and drive.

Lads for the love of God I know the horse was a gooden and SHOULD have won th race but Shay Barry was in awful state altogher . . broken pelvis, now personally I would sooner have a sound man and dead horse then a sound horse and a dead man . . .I thought it was absolutely ridicilous the way peolpe were watching , the Order Of Malta were doing their very best and the vet was trying to put down the horse as it was kicking mad and could have damaged not just the jockey but the people helpling, some people have no shame peering in, fair enough people were curious but there are times when you shouldn't be looking over the blue shield.

Spot on, that was a shocking fall, pity the horse was destroyed and I hope the jockey is making a good recovery.

Can't believe people having to see what is going on after such a serious incident.

So many people do this, and I feel it's an awful invasion of privacy of all concerned. I've always maintained that if it was me on the ground I'd probably yell at them all to go away and leave me alone.

    :D:D
You yell at people normally, so i'd be confused as to whether you fell off or were being normal....

    :(

I don't yell, I just speak normally! It's not my fault if your ears are sensitive!:D

But it's really hard to explain to people who aren't racing folk that it's not unusual for a jockey to get a fall, and that gathering around them is not helping the situation. Same when too many people crowd around a horse on the ground. They don't realise that they're actually making things worse, impeding those who need to be there, as well as upsetting the horse by reacing to the situation.

McGoldrick is one of the nicest doctors you could meet. No unnecessary fuss and has jockeys' best interests in mind.

Always sad to see one die in a race.
