Our gas boiler is wall mounted in the kitchen. Supplies the hot water and radiators. It started dripping water on Wednesday. Plumber advised it needed to be replaced as guts of 20 years old and various cracks. For this kind of job, installing a kitchen boiler, should the installer be registered with anyone, are there recommended models? Any advice at all appreciated. It's getting kind of cold

It is illegal for anyone to work on gas unless they are a RGI. You can check the list here. If your installer isn't on it, he is not a RGI.

He may be registered under company name as opposed to his own name.

If he is RGI he will carry around a ID card confirming same.
