Stamp 4 holder,looking for a job in the UK

    Hello,

    Does anyone know if a Stamp 4 holder (I am married with a Norwegian citizen) would have "less trouble" to apply for a work permit in the UK?
    My permit here in Ireland is valid for 5 years.

    In accordance with EU Treaty law on the free movement of EU nationals and their dependents, you only have the right to work in the UK if your partner is also working, studying or otherwise economically self-sufficient in the UK as well.

    So if you were hoping to go over to the UK and look for work whilst your partner remained in Ireland, this won't be possible since your right to work can only be derived from your Norwegian partner.
