UK income tax - query

Hi there,

Just moved to UK and got a 22k job. I'm trying to work out how much I'll get taxed monthly on my wage and I'm using this tool

From the looks of it I'll be paying nearly £400 per month! Is this correct? In Ireland I'd be paying feck all on such a wage. Can anyone who has worked in the Uk shed some light on this matter for me?

ps I know I should probably be looking up UK sites for this info but when in doubt I always come back to boards!

The below site says £258 a month.

It should be less since the coalition have raised the tax free alowance.
