HTC Desire - which network?

Leaving aside minor issues such as who actually has them in stock, what's the best network to go with?
Do they all have their own provider specific OS versions, or do any of them offer the unlocked version? Don't fancy the idea of waiting months for OS upgrades, and I never liked having network supplied 'extras' stuck on my phone.

Meteor. 12 month contract, unlocked and unbranded. ;)

Wait for the HTC Desire HD in October. It will drive down the price of the original Desire even if you don't want to pay for the HD version.

I disagree. It will be based off of the HTC HD 2 so its a physically bigger smart phone while retaining much the same specs. It's not a replacement for the Desire, more like it's bigger cousin.

i was considering 3. on prepay. 300Mb internet, free txts to all networks and free calls on weekends.. stuff like that, so you wont be spending much more than 20 euro if you are a txter mainly.
wifi then for internet usage for apps and stuff like that, only general browsing otherwise..

meteor have similar offers just not as good ^^

Indeed, I agree with the disagree. The Desire is already €130 on a plan with Meteor (whenever they get it in...). It's hard to see it getting much cheaper, until it is directly replaced, and as ronoc says the HD is not a replacement, just an addition to the HTC range. Personally I think 4.3" is a bit too much for many people. There's definitely a market for it, but I suspect a smaller market than the Desire-sized phones.

    Ix.

Besides, they can't keep up with demand as it is, and this is unlikely to change. Why would they reduce the price of something they know will keep selling?
