So I have a wireless keyboard, no numeric keypad, Mac OSX10.6.4 with a Logic keyboard overlay. But the shortcuts do Mac OSX stuff, Pro Tools does nothing. I've disabled everything that can be disabled in System Preferences/ Keyboard, and I've set PT keyboard shortcuts to classic. No joy! Anyone can help me with this?

BTW it's PT 7.4.x, waiting for update to arrive...

Well, the overlay is just a visual refrence, it does nothing on it's own...

Does it not work with command focus on also?

milan, LOL! Yes, I know the overlay is a piece of plastic that does nothing :) That thread was helpful though, thanks. It appears there's a little bug in 10.6.4. The global setting for the function keys stops working when the box is ticked, which is the opposite way around. Or at least, opposite to the explanation underneath it in System Prefs.

No idea what command focus is, I'll check it out. Unless you can provide an explanation? A simple one like :)

OK, it is now selecting the tools. The transport controls are on the same keys though. How do I access those? alt, ctrl, shift or cmd don't do it. Command focus does not appear to be mentioned in the PT reference guide. There is a list of command for it in the Shorcuts guide.

All I want is transport controls on a wireless keyboard...

Right, got it, still no transport controls though?? F12 works for record. F7 for rewind, F8 for play and F9 for FF are written on the key, but I don't know how to make them work.

Have you changed all the key settings in Expose and spotlight in system preferences as well? Or am I completely off the mark?

Thanks, I'm pretty sure that I have, I unticked every single one to be sure to be sure. I'll double check Spotlight. Exposé is definitely off. Grrr.
