Starting a masters in september which requires me to use a laptop on a daily basis. The masters is in Smurfit UCD and has some sort of discount deal with Dell.

    Budget: Circa €800

Intended:College work, Internet will also use it for general entertainment (movies, music etc.

Mobility: The lighter the better, will be having it in my bag on hour + walks so would be nice if it wasn't really heavy.

Warranty: Not important, but obviously would love a reliable machine

    Operating system: Windows 7

Also some of the other requirements: At least 3mb memory. Office enterprise 2007 or office professional 2010.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    Think you mean 3GB there.

    Studio 15 will be perfect:

What kinda discount do you get?

if you know anyone going to the usa for a trip, you could pick up a very good deal at a staples store, especially with the current dollar rate.

Meant 3mb cache, but that dell looks good. AFAIK it's 10% discount but not 100 per cent about that.

I got a Dell Vostro 3300 for a Smurfit course, but haven't received it yet so I can't comment on how suitable it'll be! Just wanted to point out that you can get Office Pro for 45 euros from one of the student software websites. When I was pricing out my system with Office Pro it was adding about 300 quid to the total which was REALLY affecting what I could afford. It was a big relief when I found out I didn't have to pay full price :)
