proxy server and HTC

Hi all, Just a quick question re: HTC legend....just got one and it looks really good :D..but can't connect to mail/web etc in work over the wifi because of proxy server issues. Can an android phone connect to a proxy server over wifi???? Thanks :D

There is some info here including two possible workarounds:

Short answer, proxies are not supported by Android out of the box. Ignore my comments about using the voice dialler to access the proxy menu. This was an old workaround which no longer works
