    Hi All,

Little advice here. Ordered a laptop LCD panel off ebay, it was called "origional Dell", fully compatable with the laptops model number (in both the description and title model number listed).
Not heres where the fun starts, the panel is clearly for another laptop, the mounting tabs are at a different location meaning the screen cant be securied fully, but also makes the cover bezel budge.
Using the old screen (which works appart from LCD red lines appearing) perfectly, using replacement screen, connected up fully ok, boots up bright grey only. I'm guessing the laptop I haves inverter is different hence the grey tinge,
anyways this is a clear cut case of item not being as described, and I want a refund. contacted seller but due to his mistake I would feel I have the right to have any postage costs I have paid for upon receipt by the seller? Seller has good feedback so hopefully wont be a issiue, I'm guessing the panel will cost over 10 euros at least just to send back recorded

    Any advice appreciated :)

    Nick

The buyer pays for return postage, that's eBay and Paypal's policy. Even though it's contrary to EU consumer law, good luck getting either of them to do anything for you. The seller may chose to cover the return postage, but it's their choice. You could threaten negative feedback if they don't, but feedback extortion is also against the rules and they could close the case on you without giving you your refund if you do.

its exactly how so many chinese sellers get away with selling complete garbage ,they know registered postal fees are going to exceed the item price
and if its sent back unregistered theyle just throw it in the bin where it belongs
