I don't think he's bad. He actually very good and is one of my favorites but he's not the 'best guitarist ever.'

As much as I hate Muse, Matt Bellamy is alright, though why he got first place I dunno. What's even thicker about that list is having Robert Smith at no.3? The chap is a genius, but a great guitarist:confused:

These kind of polls always make me smile, not so much for who is in it but for who is left out.

For instance (even leaving out number 1), if Keith Richards is in there, then why is n't Mick Taylor who is light years better than Richards.

Also, what's "The Edge" doing in there ???????

A large pillar of salt required with these sort of things. :D

Lennon at 20?........Amazing song writter, great singer, average guitarist at best. Weird list all round.

Average score for Dimebag Darrel; 3.90. Stopped after that, I don't abide by a poll for idiots.

Well The Horrors second album was pretty damn good. Yer man being the greatest guitarist ever is stretching it just a tad though. :pac:

It's a bad list, barring a handfull, so yeah he deserves to be with the Enemy's guitarist.

He'd be in my top 10, maybe not my top 5 though

Man, that is hilarious! Satire is redundant.

"I heard Golden Touch on Radio 1 and that's when I became Indie"

It seems to me that these lists equate to a nothing more than a run-down of guitarist(s) from the writers/magazines favourite bands, with nobody picked for individual merit.

Also, you rarely see anyone picked from outside the confines of rock/pop music. No Derek Bailey, Sonny Sharrock, for instance.

I'm not raging, just concerned at the amount of paper/server space being wasted on inane lists.

Ah, OK that's the most effective rage material I've ever seen posted.
Goddamn. How did I last watching that?

Oh, he's probably my top 3, but a personal list of favourite guitarists is way different to a 'greatest guitarist ever' list.
