Laptop Lost Power

My toshiba lv 300laptop suddenly lost all power and the screen went blank. The battery wasnt dead and it was charging at the time. I bought a new battery just in case and it still wont power on. Hoovered out the fan and didnt make a difference. What could have happened it and can it be repaired??

Any lights comeing on fan spining etc ?

Nothing at all. I heard it could be a broken on off switch or the laptop overheated. I dont know for sure though
