Hi IA, its actually a Hotpoint , Aquarius range. Not sure what the model number is but on the guide its one f WMA58, WMA56, WMA52, WMA50, WMM59 , WMM53. Hope you can help as there no mention in the instruction of changing the filter.

on the front bottom of the machine there is usually a panel that can be clipped off, when off you should see a cap that usually needs to be turned with a pliers, this is usually the location of the filter on most machines, keeps things like coins, clips etc form damaging the fins on the pump, have a bowl or alot of rags ready as it will hold whatever water is left at the bottom of the machine,

I am still having no luck. I remove the bottom panel ok but there is nothing except metal and nothing to screw open like in your link. Would the filter be anywhere else?

    ok found out why

[why do they make it so difficult]
Unfortunatly hotpoint do not make the filter accessible from the outside of the machine. It is almost certain after your recent wash that the filter is blocked or partially blocked. The filter is located at the bottom of the drum in the large black sump pipe which drains the tub into the pump, it is connected onto the bottom of the tub with large black plastic bandclip which has to be dismantled to give access to the plastic filter inside. You will need a certain level of diy skills for the job if you feel you do not have this I would advise an engineer call out.

Thanks, that explains it. I'll have a venture inside the machine later and see if I can fiddle around there and get to the filter. I appreciate your response.
