Immobilser Problem

    Hi,

    There is a problem with the immobilser in my Fiat Punto. Sometimes when I turn the keys to the first turn (electrics) the immobilser key icon will come on and not go away and the car will not start. I usually flip the key, (sometimes having to do it a few times) and it's ok.

    I just noticed there today while having a smoke in the car that it happened a few times, got it to go away then as I was sitting there with just the electrics on the immobilser icon came up after a couple of minutes and wasn't there at the start.

    I was wondering why this is happening? Is there a way to fix it? Is it a big problem now it's coming on after a couple of minutes of not being on?

    I had the exact same problem with a vectra, got a new key and it was sorted.
