Probably, there are a few other threads about this if you have a quick search. The postage is a rip off too

You have to pay VAT on the shipping as well, and a Fedex admin fee. I'd say you're looking at guts of €70-80.

    There's a Hollister in Belfast.

thanks guys, yeh i know there is a hollister in belfast but i heard that with d prices up there it wud probably be as cheap to just buy online?? also, is hollister sizing the same as abercrombie??

Don't know anything about Abercrombie sizing. Hollister sizing is small.

I paid £40 for a standard ladies hoodie (river jetties it's called on the site) and I think £15 for a tshirt. No idea how much they cost in dollars, I can't see how to change the currency on the site! But maybe that will help you?
It'd be nearly €100 duty and VAT and fedex fee if you spent 300 dollars including shipping...

A third of the cost+delivery is a quick estimate I think.

If it's sent by fedex you will be ripped off, not only do you get charged import tax on the product you import but also on the shipping, that's disgraceful I think, I've had some luck in the past persuading companies to ship to me by USPS express rather than fed ex or UPS because most of the time with USPS i don't get charged.

Another option to use is, if you no someone in the states get the package sent to them and the send them money over to ship the package to you and you then avoid custom charges. This is what i do and have yet to be caught.

Nearly the hard way, bought 2 hoodies and with shipping ended up paying around €70 to fedex :(

Also ment to say if you keep your order including delivery under $150 with American Eagle you dont pay a customs fee. Out 6-7 i orderd i only had to pay once and it was only around €12 for 2 pairs of jeans, 2 hoodies, gloves, sweat pants etc. Keep an eye out for discount codes.

Post reported, avoiding paying customs is against the law.

anything over the value ove $50 is liable for customs tax, doesn't matter if it's marked as a gift either it's still liable.

the only goods that i'm aware of that aren't liable for customs tax are marketing samples.

USPS parcels are handled by AnPost once they get into ireland. my best guess is that your parcel is being held in the customs office in portlaoise, best contact them.

    Address:
    An Post Parcel Depot,
    Clonminan Industrial Estate,
    Portlaoise,
    Co. Laois.

keezer Please do not advocate the avoidance of customs fees. Plus, any and all parcels can be subject to customs search, so a tactic such as you describe is not guaranteed to avoid customs.

This is incorrect. Only consignments with a value of less than €22 are technically exempt. However, this relief does not apply to importations of tobacco, tobacco products, alcoholic products, undenatured perfumes or toilet waters.
