Hi, I have been looking around the web and found reports that 4.1 is in the beta testing stage but does anybody know when it will be out.

Reason being I have a Parrot mki9200 car kit and it doesn't work with the current software (4.0.2) but they said it will work after the software update.

Basically without the update I have a €300 bluetooth kit and I'm not a happy bunny.

    Any ideas?

What problem are you having with the kit ? I have the same kit running 1.60 firmware and an Iphone 4 (running 4.0.2) and it seems to works fine.
I have just tested streaming music from it over BT and it worked fine (although I never really use it, I use the SD card slot for my music). Over the last few days I've made and received a few calls using the kit with no issues at all.
One thing I did do when I restored from a 3Gs to the 4 was deleted the BT pairing and recreated it from scratch.

If your ParrotMki9200 is failing to pair with your phone it could be that it is paired with too many devices already .
Have you tried deleting a old pairing from the Parrot and try again.

This is actaully correct, if you have an old iPhone paired, and both phone are called j14' iPhone you can have problems syncing them, delete all the profiles from the parrot kit and try again, let us know how it works out.

I deleted my 3GS off the Parrot before I paired the iPhone 4 so the 4 is the only device on the system so no issues there. The problem I have is that it won't play music and on the off chance I do get a track playing I cannot change the artist or the whole thing shuts off. Also accessing any part of the menu also causes it to shut down. The other thing I noticed is that the Parrot does not recognise my device as an iPhone it comes up on the menu as an iPod. Dont know if this would make any difference?

    Thanks for the replies.

This could solve something as both the 3Gs and the 4 are both called jPhone.

I'll try renaming the 4 when I get home tonight and see how I get on.

OK I got home last night, renamed the phone, unpaired everything. Hooked everything back up again and it worked like a dream...for about an hour.

Turned the car on this morning and the parrot kit wont play any music. It will do calls no problem but the only way I can get music to play is to attempt to play the track (it always fails to play the track) then try to access the USB function (just because it gives the parrot something to do) and then when the Parrot tells me there is no USB device connected the music I initially wanted starts to play!

    Now that is messed up.

    Roll on September.

has your parrot kit been updated to the latest software?
my mate had to update his parrot through the website/usb port to get his HTC Desire phone working.

Yep the Parrot kit is 1.60 the latest version. I'm kinda stumped. The kit worked fice up until ios4 was released by Apple ever since then it hasn't worked properly at all. Parrot themselves have said it will all be sorted out in Apples 4.1 update as both they and Apple are aware of the problems.

Think I'm just gonna have to sit this one out and wait.

On a slightly related note, what's the law regarding using Apple's headphones with the microphone as a hands-free kit?

I think it sounds more like a car kit problem . Maybe try a full factory reset and see what happens (Settings > Advanced settings > Factory Reset)
Otherwise if you know someone with the same kit you could test your iphone on theirs to rule out either the phone or kit.

Its a known issue with the parrot and ios4.
    From the Parrot site:
Note to the attention of iPhone and iPod touch users
Apple has identified a major issue in the operating system software OS4 v4.0 and 4.01. The playback of the music in digital quality using the Apple dedicated connector has shown some dysfunctions. This issue affects Parrot MKi systems, Parrot RKi8400, Parrot Zikmu loudspeakers and potentially a lot of existing products on the market.

Parrot is collaborating actively with Apple in order to help them to find a solution to this issue.

We are deeply sorry for all the inconveniences and we assure you that we are doing all we can do to implement everything so that Apple offers a resolution in the shortest possible time.

No, I'm using the dedicated apple connector that comes with the kit. I guess it's just a wait and see what update 4.1 can do for me.
