Currently running KIS2010 without any problems. Just received an offer from Kaspersky to upgrade to KIS2011 for free. Would you upgrade? Any problems with the new version?

I had the same offer. I took it and it works just fine as 2010.
+ It has a more sleek and stylish design.

Take the offer, you wont regret.
    ;)

I went ahead and down loaded KIS2011 online for my netbook and laptop. This upgrade loaded faster and was more user friendly than when I upgraded online from KIS2009 to KIS2010 a year ago.

I forgot to mention, well probably its just me but do you have any problems with your computer / laptop being 'laggy' or running really, and i mean really slow when KIS runs automatic update ? Because my KIS updates like 2-3 times a day and every time it updates, i can hardly even open an empty folder.

Could it just be my computer ? Its not the best, i mean i got 512MB Ram so that might be the cause ?

    Thanks in advance.

KIS2010 ran in the background on my laptop, and I hardly knew it was there except when I might visit a music, game, or naughty site and it would occasionally flag me about blocking a trojan, virus, etc. The update function drew very little of my capacity, consequently I did not notice automatic KIS2010 updates. Of course my laptop has 4gigs RAM, 1gig FSB, over 1gig dedicated graphics (not to mention higher gigs shared), and runs on Windows 7.

I do notice a tiny bit of slowdown during automatic KIS2010 updates on my netbook (2gigs RAM), which is to be expected, as everything is scaled down with Windows 7 Starter, etc.

If you are only running 512, it would depend upon your OS if it became an issue in terms of sucking up your capacity, becoming sluggish, or freezing certain apps. XP should be sluggish, while Vista needs at least 1gig to function properly, as does Windows 7. Memory is really cheap now, so if you plan on keeping your rig for awhile, I would suggest that you find out what RAM your computer can be upgraded to and do it. Plus, on most computers it's very easy to pull one or more RAM sticks and replace them with upgrades.

I have confined my discussion to the older KIS2010, as I just upgraded to KIS2011 a day ago and cannot speak much from experience yet. I can make a few comments about the upgrade. It seems to run as fast as KIS2010, and has a couple new features, one of which I am experimenting with now, that adds an additional layer of security when accessing the web called Safe Run.

Edit: Safe Run slows me down a bit when playing on boards or surfing the web.
