    Challenging Prog**igener
I wonder if someone can help with filling in missing letters’ or letter in a word that has a legal meaning to challenge someone in connection to a criminal offence after their death, the word may have a spelling similar to Prog**igener challenge? Thank you for your interest.

The only word close I can think of is: Primogeniture.

You can't commit a criminal offence after you are dead.
If you commited a criminal offence before you died and were not tried, then surely, a defence is not possible post-mortem.

I do not know the word but given the scant information in the OP, and the meaning of words with a "progen" root, is it possible he is looking for a word describing a law whereby you can charge either the parent or the child for a crime committed by the other?

    What about progenitor?
