Depends really. Do you still have the original box? If you do to a collector it could be worth €200 or more.
Have a look on ebay and make a list of your games and there condition (boxed/unboxed) and someone may even want them here.

Yeah if they are original joysticks too that helps :) Which version of the C64 is it, the original or the updated version that came with the Hollywood pack?

Meant to ask that too, I'd love a breadbin model. If it's an original Commodore monitor then that should def make it more desreable. I remember doing something a few years ago, & reading they were of interest to people. Could have been something to do with jamma test rigs/rgb or something...

I used to have one of these beasts it was the one with Flimbo's Quest on cartridge bundle, still have it in my mams house but the datasette unit is knackered and so is the joysticks but i'll pick new ones up when I feel the urge to wait hours for a game to load:)

That game never worked for me as a kid; so many hours spent wasted on waiting for it to load... :(

Nothing worse than when the counter got to about 150 you knew it just wasnt going to happen...

The problem is at this stage the azimuth on the Datasette will be all out of whack (I used to make a fortune resetting my friends ones), but also that the tapes themselves will have degraded. I doubt most of the games will continue to load.

If it's the original C64, the SID chip is superior to the newer C64 model making it very desirable. If it came with a 1541 MKII disc drive, I'd have been interested myself.

The legend that is the c64 tape deck... I was lucky, I only went through two in my time although they both required repairs! A shop on Parnell street in Dublin, just down from Peats used to fix all things 8-bit / 16-bit including my joysticks. If only I knew then what I know now about switches and wiring.. could have saved a fortune.

Hmmm in most ways i think the 6581R2 and 6581R4 are inferior the improved 8580R5 which came in the later c64c models.

The PCM playback is louder in the 6581s though, which would probably be the most desirable difference to a gamer.

The 8580s are about 20db less noisier and have a much more resonant and stronger filter, they also have the ability to play mixed waveforms which the 6581s fail to play, making the 8580s more desirable for making music with.

The filters of the 6581s are said to be a bit distorted, and thus have a "warmer" sound to them which a some people like.

Also the 6581s run on a higher voltage, and they have a much shorter lifespan.

Slightly off topic, but the Amstrad CPC 464 was far superior to the C-64.

I'm sorry, you seem to have posted this here by mistake, the Fantasy forum is elsewhere.

    In which ways?

They both have their pros and cons, i would think the c64 has more pros however! :)

To be fair, from my (all be it limited) experience of the 464 when I was younger, Im struggling to think of any one thing about it that was superior to the C64, yet alone enough to say it was far superior.

Amstrads were like Speccys that could do colour properly, but they were very expensive, if you had ill informed parents you got the one with the green screen instead of the colour one, the tape deck sucked, the controller ports looked the same but, if memory serves, the ports were wired differently to the standard.
The machine was also only really popular here, so the wave of great software coming from the US for the C64 never materialised, and the machine was never as popular as the Speccy so most games weren't converted.
So, you had a machine that had the potential to be awesome but, due to the world at the time, it never reached that potential, before being overtaken by the Atari ST and Amiga 500.
So, that was that, the Amstrad 646 added a sh1te disk drive, I had the Speccy+3 with the same one, awful!
