Old Volkwagen Beetles

My mother is after an old Volkswagen Beetle (late 60's/early 70s). I don't know much about older cars but she has her heart set on a 'classic', so I, drawing on my little knowledge, advised that the Mini Cooper would probably be a better buy.

Can anyone tell me what owning/driving an old Beetle is like? The more negative the better! :p

Make sure she buys an icescraper as well ...so she can scrape the inside of the windscreen in winter.

Oh ...she'd better get a fur coat as well :D

This is best of in the Classics section tbh

But for what its worth she needs to look for rust rust and more rust!!

Mini's and Beetles are expensive to buy and in my opinion a bit over rated (I don't expect others to agree)

Not a bad old bus but why not go for something a little different with an Austin 1100/1300.

Great car, very cheap to buy and fix and very comfy!!
