    Hi guys,

just looking for a bit of advice on this,

got an ipad 32gig wifi from usa and cant use it on 3g yet as i dont have a proper sim/sim holder for it yet. the sim that is in it is an american one ie smaller so wont fit one of our sims into it.

Can I get a proper holder for an irish one or what do i need to do to be able to use it over here??

    Cheers

The American ones are designed not to work with 3G over here. They specifically made the sim smaller so that they wouldn't be exportable.

Now that you've had that "Oh Crap" moment, you need to get a micro sim from O2/Meteor, not sure if Voda have them, no reason they wouldn't but I've seen the other two. Just pick your network & go buy a new connection.

Are you trying to fit a regular phone sim in?

No it wont fit. I thought that maybe you could change the sim holder over to an irish one and that it would work.

All the Irish networks will now supply you with a microSIM, usually on demand and normally FOC. Can take 2 minutes to 3 days to SIM-swap depending on network. MVNOs such as Tesco won't.
