5 pack of Snickers (full size) are €1 each in Tesco Dundrum. Was just in there and got 3 packs. €3 for 15 Snickers bars is pretty decent IMO, they would have cost me €15 in a newsagent.

The Eur1.25 was a correct price, the 74c was a misprice. Some people went a bit mad on the 74c price point if I remember correctly......

Those snickers are out of date next week. Not that it matters as you should have them eaten by then anyway.

they actually scanned at 2 for €1, so it was 10 bars for a quid

A great read! The brown bread I wouldn't have but the rest no bother. I just lash chocolate bars etc in the freezer. They defrost very quickly so snap up choc bargains when they come. The 192 out of date creme eggs for €3.96 I got last year are nearly finished. Yum!

Looked for these in Tesco in the square today and there weren't priced at €1 :( They had 4 Flakes for €1.50 though, the same for 4 Twirls too.

I think those bars are smaller than usual, twirls & flakes are already very light, I know the 4 packs of caramels were lighter than standard.

Same is the case in Newcastle West and Abbeyfeale. If I recall correctly they are €2.39 for 5 Mars pack and €1.99 for 5 pack Snickers or else visa versa, which is extortion in my opinion. But its only what I expect from Tesco now at this stage.

Lidl have the 5 pack snickers at €1.29 at the moment if your not near one of these Tescos that seemingly have them at €1 a pack (probably because theres no serious competition in the area). Lidl also doing buy one get one free on Yoplait 125 gram strawberry and hazlenut yougarts at the moment which works out at 62 cent for 2 pots.

Please Please, explain to me how that is extortion, That's 40c a bar even at full price never mind the offer. I paid 1 euro for 1 today on my lunch in centra. Thanks OP great deal:cool:

Just a reminder, I got the 5 pack of Snickers for €1 in Tesco, Dundrum Town Centre. Not sure if any other Tesco is doing it, haven't been to any others since.

LOL, extortion? That's 40 cent for a Snickers bar FFS, cop on.

I wasn't so much talking about the 5 snickers (not that their exactly cheap either) but was more referring to the 5 mars for €2.39. Lets try and compare like with like though all the same. Theavenger I don't think its very relevant that you mention that you bought a bar of Mars for €1 in Centra as you choose to pay for the convenience to have along with your roll/ sandwich and tea/ coffee I'm guessing (allbeit way over the odds for the conveniece I reckon). More relevant is to compare to the nearest competitor Dunnes perhaps? Last few times I was in Dunnes I got 7 full sized bars of Mars for €1.89 and they weren't even on special offer. Now by my calculations that makes your 5 mars over 77% more expensive in Tesco which is why I say its bloody extortion!

Could ye possibly provide me with a logical reason why Tesco would have this offer in some stores and not in others? My best bet is that they are chancing their arm and getting away with what they can.

Sorry now for the rant but I think its very hypocritical of Tesco to have a high profile "were slashing prices" campaign or something along those lines not too long back and then sneakily bump up the prices of many lines, sometimes noticeably and more times not too noticeably

In Artane Castle it wasn't a standard offer. The pack had a yellow sticker and marked €1. The BB date was sometime in Sept so they were getting rid.

Also they were in the yellow sticker section, not near the other bars.

Did not see this offer in Clearwater today and was in the sweets section (as usual!), boo hoo, although my waistline says different. Putting the bars in the freezer is a great idea and might mean my husband does not get to eat them all!! What DID happen to the man who entered the marathon??
