Hi it might be a stupid question but i am a little confused.

i received confirmation by the ICAI that i would be exempt from financial accounting within the CAP1S. Is this the same as financial accounting within the ACCA and will i be exempt from this? sorry i am just very confused and would appreciate help

Put in your college that you done your degree with onto the ACCA exemptions part of their website and they'll tell you if your exempt or not. Generally ACCA offer better exemptions than ACA for undergraduate Accounting degrees.

i was in trinity college and did BESS focusing on accounting and finance.

Our acounting lecturer was trying to get exemptions and conditional that we did a 3 day intensive bookeeping course we got that exemption from the ICAI but im confused as to whether this applies to acca

I was looking on the ACCA website and noticed that for my course in tcd, economics, i can get 3 exemptions if I have Economics degree with minor in Accounting.

I was looking on the net and it seemd that to obtain a minor it is 18-24 credits. Is this right as the accounting subjects i undertook were
Intro to accounting and financial analysis (both 5 creds)
Financial and Management accounting (10 creds)
Financial Reporting and Analysis (15 creds)
Which is a total of 35 creds. Will this mean I have a minor in accounting and can obtain these exemptions?

I also did applied finance (10 creds)

Going by the info provided you look fine for the 3 - email ACCA and they will let you know what you need to provide.

    Good luck

I have emailed them about 4 times in the last week regarding this and still no reply. I know they're busy though with the results coming out!

I just have no idea what exactly you need to qualify for a minor in a subject and i asked my college who didn't know but are looking to get back to me. Im sure I do have a minor if I did that much accounting.
