    Is it common to be busted by one guard and summonsed by another. I've heard of two seperate occurences in the last while.

    I've been summoned 6 times and it's never happened to me. Not saying it couldn't happen but it's new to me

    the Gard who delivers the summons will be a local, not necesarily the Gard doing the Summonsing.

    Yes it is. It doesn't matter what member is on the summons once the evidence is given to convict in court by the member concerned.

    and in some parts of the country the name that appears is the local super and not the arresting/detecting member at all

    ie: The DPP at the suit of Supt Murphy v An Other
