    Seems he's dead now.

    BBC is saying his motiviation was to seek asylum in Turkey. I'm not entirely convinced that the best way to get the Turkish government onto your side is to take their official and his wife hostage.

    Not sure where you're getting that info but all sources I'm looking at say that he was shot in the legs and the hostage situation in ongoing.

    So we've gone from reports of a Palestinian, naked hostage taker in the Turkish Embassy in Israel being shot dead, to a fully clothed man, who wasn't shot dead?

    Next thing they'll be reporting that the man wasn't Palestinian, but American & was in the British Embassy in Belgium, enquiring about a job vacancy. Half naked, of course.

    Is there any truth in the reports that a possible link, cause or partial explanation is that he'd been denied asylum by the british embassy previously?

    could be possibly - he wasn't paedophilic enough and couldn't better the need for one Larry Murphy to be ther before him
