    Hi,

I'm about to start up a new bakery business and I hope to test my products out within a farmers market first. I live in South County Dublin so will probable look at joining one of the local markets,

Just a few questions, I need to get my local HSE out to view my domestic kitchen, any tips on what I need to prepare or need?

Also anyone have a rough quote on how much public Liability insurance might cost?

Any suggestions on the best Dublin Markets to Enter?

    Thanks

    Hi Ruth, Thats great news,

Basically the area(s) where you prepare your food, manufacture and package your food as well as storing areas for food need to comply with the irish food standards legislation.

You will find alot of information regarding this at the follwoing page on the fsai website (the food safety authority of Irelands website):

    http://www.fsai.ie/food_businesses/starting_business.html

In regards of public liability it depends on alot of different factors but i know that there is a crowd out there who have a special package specifically for market traders. I think its about 200-250 for the year. I cant think of their name right now, but your fellow stall owners should know.

The market you enter is determined by the quality and price of the food you sell, so only you can choose that.

    Hope this helps,

    Rob
