Surgical Tooth Extraction

I got one of my upper molars removed yesterday. It was a long time coming but I've a despicably irrational fear of the dentist so until it hurts I won't go! Had it out anyway, I've got about 3 stitches that I have to get out next Monday but in my delirious shaken state I forgot to ask the nurse for an after care sheet!

I've read lots of horror stories on the net now and suppose I'm just looking to ease my mind a bit! :( I thiiiink it's clotted...(not too sure what this should be like hugely..) I haven't really eaten anything major just a bit of soup and jelly. I woke up with no pain this morning just very very minor discomfort... Should I be rinsing my mouth out much? I'm pleased that it's not sore or anything. Just freaked out over what I've read on dry socket I suppose!

Don't worry. You're fine. Just keep doing what you're doing, avoid disturbing the clot. So no aggressive rinsing, toothbrushing is ok just avoid the socket.
After 2 days warm salty mouthrinses can start morning and evening and should continue for about a week. No smoking.
