it would work fine, but it would be a slow process. Personally for spot treatments I'd be looking at one of these

A litre of roundup would go a long way and you could do it as you walk along instead of waiting for a torch to burn the weed

Was wondering would this be suitable for spot treating Thistles and Rushes. Any one ever used one?

Would be handy in that could treat in any weather, could also treat weeds while herding the cattle.

29.94 Euro for unit and 21.94 for refill cans of 4.

    Just wondering really!

They were in Lidl a few months ago for about 20 bucks including a can of Gas...
Better off spending the 20 on a slab of Carling :D

Ya, I was thinking it would be a waste alright of money alright.

It's just that I have a lot of spot spraying to do. With broken wet weather and cattle in the fields, it's next to impossible to get a chance.

I made up my own sprayer using a 5 gallon drum, 12V pump and about 20 meters of 10mm hose which is connected to an old spraying handle. I use the transport box on the tractor to carry it around. Works a treat for those single bunches of rushes you get in up land or for getting Docks. More effective than a gas gun and much cheaper.
