Bit of a moan here..Awhile back i put up a thread entitled 'Any stormtroopers in the galway area' i posted that i was looking for other people with stormtrooper or general star wars outfit's..with the intention of getting together to appear at birthday/office parties (now here's the bone of contention) for money..I had recently acquired a costume and was eager to get out and about in it. I got a reply suggesting i should check out the emerald garrison online..so i did, only to be refused membership on the grounds that i wanted to make money by using my or others costumes...I tried to make it clear i would be happy to join and not try to make money from the costume..No reply from eg, apparently my request to join after being banned is on their website, which is strange as i haven't posted anything there, anyway I think they have been very unfair not to even give me a chance(Poor me:(). I didint get my trooper armour to make money, I got it because as a kid i'd dream of stromtroopers.

Received an e-mail from the emerald garrison this evening..again stating my intention was to make money from appearance's and that's why they wouldnt accept me as a member, totally ignoring the fact that after i was made aware of their policy's (charity organisation/none profit) and was prepared to abide by that I was completely blanked and banned from their site/org. also they aren't impressed with my thread here

Start your own club and wipe them out when you get bigger and more powerful... All of them.

I can understand why they banned you. Trying to make money during these troubled time's with the rebellion getting closer as we speak .

never happen,do you realise how big they are,and the reason why u were most likley refused membership is that they [and every other starwars fan club world wide] risk being shut down and sued by the good folk at lucas film if they make any money from their clubs

As if all the other existent members couldn't be doing that sometime in the future.
It's almost like in Minority Report where they punish you for something you haven't even done, yet ^^

Well, my experience with Star Wars fanatics is that they are all a little bit insane.
I've been a fan since I was in playschool and I've always loved to talk about the movies etc. with others but at some point they always got pissed off because I dared to raise questions or state that I didn't like this or that part of the movies/books/whatever that much.
It seems most "active" Star Wars fans secretly worship George Lucas and deny anyone access to their clubs as long as they aren't as "devoted" as they are.

The good thing is, you really don't miss anything.
You can still be a fan and enjoy the movies/ext. universe stuff - and if you need stuff like costume patterns or whatever, just google.
No need for a club for that, either :)

just a reply to what you say about the costumes.while you are right in so far as you dont need to be in a club you really would be better off as there are several unscrupulous prop builders/costume suppliers out there.one that comes to mind takes for ever to send to his customers and after you pay for it,if it ever arrives it will either be too small or too big or it wont be complete or a combination of all 3, so if you are not in a club to speak to expierenced builders you could very easily get caught out..just something to keep in mind:)

I vote this thread be moved to the Christian one. It's as about real and relevant as theirs...

What's that adage; government intelligence is to intelligence; as military music is to music....hopefully ye get the analogy.

Is there actually groups of people arguing about who/who can't dress up?

Lol lol lol lol...definitely for Christian thread.
