The hill(s) start at about 6 miles untill around 8 miles, the best way to get up them with ease is to do lots of training :) or not running too fast early in the race.

I think you have a small climb at about 6.25 to 7 and then again from 7.5 till about 8.5 would be my guess.

What??? Hills ;) i thought there was only one. I remember it from the 10k... but i have done alot more training since that so i am hoping it will be a bit easier. Would slowing the pace around mile 4/5 be of any benefit? Don't plan on starting to fast made that mistake in the 10k.

I wouldnt slow my pace down at 4/5 but rather run an even pace for the first 6 miles then keep the effort level the same on the hill, if you have a bit in the tank come 8 miles then push on from there.. The hills arent really that bad .

By 10k, do you mean the Great Ireland Run? The 10 mile is easier, it doesn't have that downhill into the Glen (with the pond at the bottom) and the climb out again, it cuts that corner out. The only real hill is between miles 6 and 7, but there are a few small ups and downs in the next couple of miles.

I had heard people talk about the hill for the 10k and how awful it was. I had worked myself into a state about it and kept thinking about it all the way around and when it came to it i suppose it really wasn't all that bad. I had done worse hills on my training runs. So i will keep it at a steady pace. Thanks a mil.

Yep the Great Ireland run. Good to hear the 10 mile is easier so.

hills aren't bad for the 10 mile, they save the bad hill for the half marathon.
Anyone who has been training away will have no problems with it

Even the half isnt too bad at all now, only one extra hill but lots of flat running after that until the hills again.
