I was horrified to find out recently that most Irish media will only review a camera if the supplier provides free product to them (to keep)

I have a Fujifilm F80 compact and although it has won numerous awards i could never work out why it was always overlooked when it came to Irish reviews - Reviews are always Sony and Panasonic with the odd mention of Nikon.

We want to hear about the best products out there please and not just about freebies that reviewers have picked up!!!

so why read specifically irish media

There are about 500 million websites out there devoted to picking over the last tiniest little detail of every new product released. At least 499.99 million of them are payed schills, or ad hosts, or people with vested interests, or shops etc etc but there are a couple of reasonably good review sites that'll provide you with all the info you need.

it's fairly common for review models to be handed over for keeps if they're not madly expensive, but i've not heard of the practice of the reviewers demanding that they be handed over for good too often. where did you hear that about irish media?

there was that french guy who claimed to be from the french military who managed to scam millions of quid worth of all sorts of gear - if you hand something over to the military for review, you don't get it back, cos they often test to destruction.
