Same as Lagos, we'll be here for 4 days before flying home, sounds like there is a lot of stuff to do there but is there anything’s that can't be missed that might not necessarily be in a guide book. Places to eat, drink etc ? Also, as we're travelling up from Lagos, is it right that the train would take all day between changes, so the bus is the best way of getting up there ? Thanks for any help given.

there's a direct train up, my fav spot in Lison is Barria Alto - take the tram up to it and eat outdoors in the cobble streets

not sure about lagos but there is a bus from albufeira to lisbon that takes 3hrs, buses from lagos to albufeira run throughout the day if there is no direct service from lagos

there isn't alot to see in lagos, its a very small resort town with a beach, there is a small zoo and the marina, local companies do whale and dolphin cruises so if you haven't been on one of those thats interesting, i did one in tenerife

as for lisbon there are numerous sites in town to visit such as the castle, the eduardo 7th park, Belem tower, Jeronimos Monastery, monument of discoveries and Parque das Nacoes, those few things listed will take the best part of 2 days to see

Make sure to head to Sintra and Cascais, both are beautiful and easily accessed by train.

For food, Bocca is very trendy with great food, friendly staff and an open kitchen.

Make sure to eat some Pasteis de Belem outside of Belem tower, world famous custard pies that are absolutely gorgeous.

Head out for a drink in the Bairro Alto (some excellent, relaxed nightlife around here), and make sure to visit a Fado bar if you can.
