My wireless adapter went missing in a recent move.

I have an unused netgear wireless router at home. (one supplied by UPC)

Is it possible to set it up as an acess point with my other wireless router.

    Rgds

What exactly are you trying to do? Are you looking to connect the Xbox to the Netgear router via an ethernet cable and then have the Netgear router connect wirelessly (i.e. as a client) to the other router so that the Xbox is effectively connected to the 2nd router?

If so then I think the answer's probably no. I don't think that the Netgears supplied by UPC can be made to work this way.

What are the models of the Netgear & the 2nd router - maybe you can switch things round if the 2nd one is able to be a wireless client?

If it's a wireless signal strength issue leading to lag, then would you not consider a mode N router?

Bugger. Would a 10m ethernet cable be out of the question?

If not then it looks like you're gonna have to buy something : either a Powerline adapter, a wireless ethernet bridge or a wireless router which supports client mode or DD-WRT
