If you put the o2 sim in your device, and connect it to iTunes it should prompt you to download the carrier settings.

I've just tried that and it didn't work

you might need to reset network settings first !
    settings>general>reset>reset network settings,
then with o2 sim, connect to itunes, you should be prompted to dl carrier file

    Hi plu

not sure about about mms, but if you goto http://www.unlockit.co.nz/ on your phone and enter the details for o2 which are

    APN - "open.internet"
    Username - gprs
    Password - gprs

click create profile and it should not connect to the internet.

    iPhone 4 on v 4.01

I have all the right settings and have tried O2 and Meteor sim cards (both verified working in other phones - bill pay not run out of credit and activated for data) without success

Everytime I reset network settings I have to modify / reinstall the ultrasnow unlock

Sorry for hijacking the thread but I have a question about the APN aswell.

I have a new iPhone 4, its not jailbroken but on vodafone. Is the default APN the isp.vodafone.ie APN? In the 3GS, you can set your own APN but in the 4 you can't. The reason I ask is that I think the APN live.vodafone.com is better and it more handier when abroad because the max charge is 99cent. So can I change the APN to live.vodafone.com?

Live requires a proxy which doesnt work anymore.

Live hasn't required a proxy for over 1 year now.

Vodafone iPhone4s come using 'live' out of the box, it's the default APN in all the Vodafone carrier files since March.

    Meanwhile.....

I can't get the internet to work on this using Mobile data (O2 or meteor) so it's going back to where it came from and will start afresh with another one...

Cheers. Looks that way alright. Seem to get charged 99 cent a day looking at my credit.

So I got rid of the Orange phone and got a 3 phone. It's jailbroken and unlocked. Running OS 4.0.1

    Enable 3G - On
    Mobile data - On

    APN open.internet
    Username gprs
    Password gprs

With a live O2 micro sim

when I open Safari I get the message
Cannot Open page. Safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the internet

when I try opening the app store, the just stays Loading for ever
