Wild oats in barley seed

Hopefully this is in the right section but here goes anyways.

I sowed about 7 acres of spring barley (Centurion). It was drilled in at 12stone/acre,manured,harrowed,rolled and left.

It is now riddled with wild oats and very light. The wild oats is growning in the lines not out so it was not blown in.I've been in contact with the manufacturer and got no soot at all from their rep,he is blaming everything but the seed after pictures were emailed to him.

    My questions are these
    1. Has anybody had the same problem before and how do you prove the seed came in the barley and after it's proven, where do you go from there?
    2. Is anybody suffering from the same situation or similar now,and what are you doing about it?

    Thanks

if the infestation is that bad the oat seed would have been clearly seen at the time of sowing.

Wild oats could have been in the field before you sowed it. Was there any in the field last year? They can live for many years in the soil

Not a bit of it at all for the past 8 years, the only difference about this year compared to any other year was the seed variety and supplier.

Just to hazard a guess but maybe the seed????? Change supplier if you can but years of problems getting it back under control. Hated rogueing wild oats. Sowing much more fun!!!!
