CineXPlayer is a new FREE app for iPad that allows playback of XVIDs.

You simply copy the files straight onto the iPad via the iTunes App Files function.

This surely cannot last long on the App Store. Grab it now. FREE

(note for mods: not a shill... just know that a lot of people will be very happy to see this!) :)

Yes, indeed, but you're over a week late and it doesn't look like the app is going anywhere :-)

Works very well, I just stuck seasons 1-6 of "Foyle's War" on my iPad. Pretty impressive.

    Newbee alert!

Why are we all so excited about this? What's the advantage of XVID over standard Apple converted files. Does it produce smaller files with as good quality or is it just that the format is more portable if you already have it?

    Thanks

Er... The advantage is you don't have to convert 'em.

I downloaded it. I see it supports multiple formats. I thought it only supported a specific "xvid" CODEC. So, yes, no need to convert. Very nice!

    Cheers
