GUI card problem

If your gui card does not work when you go to sign in or enter scores what is the correct proceedure in regards to reporting your scores.

At the moment i have just reported this problem to the pro shop when playing away comps and left my gui no and home club info on the card.

I have mentioned it to my home club and the problem is fixed when they check it but will work one day but not the next. Im not the only one at my club with this problem.

I have cut myself but should i assume these scores will be returned to my club to be manually entered or do i need to do something each time this happens.

What do you mean it doesn't work? Like what is wrong exactly? Computer not working at the away club? Can't swipe in? Have you tried keying in your number manually?

Put your GUI number, home club (and a phone number?) on the scorecard.
Also write that the score is "not in the computer" clearly on the card.
Write the details of your away scores on the sheet/book at your home club. There should be a sheet there where you can fill out the course, date, SSS, CSS, score etc and this gives the handicap secretary something to go on if the score doesn't get returned electronically or the card returned by post manually.
You are supposed to report all your away scores but since it usually gets done electronically people get very lazy about doing this.
If you beat the CSS then you are obliged to cut yourself in the meantime.

The card isnt read or recognised and when the number is entered nothing happens. Can be very annoying having to explain that it wont work every second time you play.

Must find the book for entering scores at my club, have not done that but have the rest down at this stage. Didnt know a book or sheet existed.

    Cheers

When you log onto golfnet.ie, is your handicap details info etc on it...
Was just something when i got my handicap couple months back, i was not on golfnet.ie, handicap secetary said it was something to do with numbers not matching on my home club and golfnet site.
Don't know the ins and outs of how it works but have a look anyway on golfnet and see.

On the golfnet.ie site click on the 'away' score tab and you will know right away if the away score has been uploaded electronically.

    Few Questions.

    1. Does your card ever work at an away club?
    2. Can you log into golfnet.ie and check your handicap?
    3. Does your card work at your home club and do you swipe in or just key in your number or just select your name from an index (list)?
    4. Is this one of the new GUI cards with a 'beautiful' picture of a driving range on it?

    1. Yes it worked last wednesday but the next day it didnt. Both away scores
    2. Yes golfnet works perfect. No away scores yet.
    3. Card works grand in my club
    4. Yes its a newbie, although n had the same hasstle with the old one this year and when i complained in the office i was given the new card which would 'fix' this problem.

Defo gonna look for the book next time i have an away score to report.
