Tourist Visa for China

    Hi All,

Looking for some help asap with this!

I'm heading off travelling in a couple of months and I'm hoping to get my flights booked. The general route we're taking is Dublin-Nairobi. Overland to Jo'burg. Fly from Jo'Burg to Mumbai. 1 month travelling around India. Fly from Mumbai to Bangkok. Backpack from Bangkok to Beijing.

Someone raised a potential massive problem for us in terms of our tourist visa for China. Apparently, this must be obtained from the Chinese Embassy in Dublin before we leave. However, I have been told that this visa must be used to enter China within 30 days of it being issued or else it is deemed invalid. As such, we will have spent up to 7 months on the road before we arrive at the Chinese border and our visa would have been deemed null and void if the above info is correct.

Has anyone had any experience of something similar?

Surely there's a way around this?

    Thanks for your help,

    Jim
