A farmer who has committed countless offences against agricultural and environmental regulations, who has been reported and cross-reported several times, and who has profited extraordinarily from these activities over the last nine years is not being prosecuted.

    Background:

    Irish Times Story:
    http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/ireland/2010/0730/1224275809136.html

I have personally asked senior staff in the National Parks and Wildlife Service would they prosecute the case. They will not.

    I asked them why?
    ...
something about them being site managers (give me a break!)
    ...

Someone must surely have these guys backs covered, as they have clearly been given a Out-of-jail-free card. This could cost Ireland millions in EC fines, but we couldn't trouble them, could we?

I think the constitution Protects him, as I said in the other thread He OWNS the land, the govt can make requests and Reward compliance but they cant MAKE him do anything with His Field, if it worries you so much Buy it or convince the government to Buy it

    And as I explained earlier:

He only owns 10% of the land.
It is not a field, it is a dune system
There is no constitutional right to break the law on your own land or otherwise

Try convince the Gardai that you have a constitutional right to grow cannabis on your land!

That may be true, but please read:

They may enter the land if he does not rectify the situation, may carry out necessary works, and have a simple contract debt judgement made against him in court, resulting in a charge (mortgage) on his land, so if he doesn't pay they get some of his land in the same manner that a bank would if you chose to exercise your constitutional right not to pay your mortgage.

They could however also prosecute him for the myriad offences committed under:http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/1997/en/si/0094.html#zzsi94y1997a17
