We are in the middle of our build at the moment and will soon be ordering our windows.

On our construction drawings all our windows have 4 panes of glass but we are thinking now that we'd like a different style...less panes of glass.

Do you think this would affect our planning if we went with different style windows......no change in size/shape of windows.

Our engineer has gone on holidays for 2 weeks so can't ask him!
Also he has gone without us knowing he was going and we have just finished blockwork. Would it be a bad idea to start on roof without engineer signing off on blockwork?

It's always better to run any change past the planners first. I would imaging that it would be OK but again I don't know the specifics. You need to ensure that the revised window design will comply with fire and ventilation requirements.

As you have engaged an engineer to inspect the works at various stages its best that you don't proceed to the nest stage until such time as he has signed off on the present stage.
