What is the job market in Ireland like for warehousing/dock workers, labour, etc?

I'm coming back from Vancouver to Ireland soon. Having worked there in dockyards, warehouses and building sites, I wonder whether this experience will help me to find a similar job in Ireland. Is the job market as bad as the posts in this board tell?

If you want a bit of advice, stay out for a while, mu husband has been looking for a job in warehouse and logistics for 8 months now with no joy. So unless you know someone who knows someone who can hook you up with something be ready for a long wait!
