Currently being interviewed on MMA Live and it's insanely awesome.:

    Some interesting quotes about TNA:
    • "They are not ready for me".
    • "I know I could help them".
    • "TNA is looking to serve too many masters. They bite their finger nails about tv ratings every Friday that don't matter. It's all about the long term"
    • "If you were over 40 wrestler in TNA I'd chop your ****ing head off"
    • "If you were a legend in TNA you would not want Heyman there".
    • "I want a guy that's coming into his peak. It's all about the youth. Where do you want to be in 15 years? That's what it's all about".
    • "God bless the ECW guys but they are in their 40's"

    • "Why not put the Guns versus Beer Money in the main event instead of the middle of the card?".
    • "Some would say Dave Batista is a lover not a fighter".

It should be repeated soon but alot of it is MMA talk.

Very similar to his interview in the las PowerSlam magazine. He is dropping a lot business school lingo in interviews nowadays.

Looks like a deal with strikeforce is imminent..
Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker commented in a post-show interview last night about the possibility of working with former ECW owner and WWE talent Paul Heyman in the near future. Coker made the comments following the entertaining Strikeforce: Houston event that aired live on Showtime on Saturday evening.

Coker told the MMAFighting.com website, "Paul [Heyman] and I have been talking about doing a couple things together." Coker elaborated, but didn't reveal much in the way of specifics, stating "if it works out, we'll do it. I think it's going to happen."

When can we expect to find out what's going on with that interesting situation? Shouldn't be long according to the head hauncho at Strikeforce. "We'll have an announcement in the next couple of weeks."

You can check out the aforementioned Scott Coker interview online at MMAFighting.com.

After the interview from the UFC a few months ago I was sure Heyman both hated wrestling these days and probably has/had little to offer TNA due to his loss of excitement, enthusiasm and love of it over MMA. Forget that though, his points about how and why the tag match should've been the main focus of the card were totally spot on. TNA still looks far too much like WCW and maybe Heyman could actually mould those young 20yr old guys he spoke of into something long term.

I think back to ECW in 2000 after they'd lost a number of their big name guys Heyman seemed to try to push the younger guys. I've no idea what his 5,10,15 year plan was though.

But they did do that constantly, the likes of Jericho, rey, the dudleys, rvd, were all young guys and ecw gave them their break.
You'd assume that Pauls plan was to repeat the process, like get more younger guys in would've been quite easy if the company hadve made more money and continued to grow.

Jericho and Rey weren't in the main event picture as far as I remember. Though that is not to say they wouldn't have held the main strap as many of the younger guys like them were courted elsewhere.

RVD did of course headline the company and even Buh Buh had a main event world title match.

Does Paul still have it though? Does he still have the passion and the drive? He seems to have a massive hard on for MMA though even in that interview he seems to be throwing out pro-wrestling booking suggestions for MMA. Stuff like feeding Kimbo no-hopers to hide how bad he is until a fight with Brock draws millions I don't think is the sort of promoting UFC wants to do. However, his comments about how Carwin should've conducted interviews might be something Heyman could work at in MMA - producing/directing the build up and the vignettes and stuff.

That was great listening. It's always great to hear Paul Heyman's interviews, the guy definitely knows a thing or two about the entertainment business and how to sell a product

When you watch that interview, you can easily see how he literally had dozens of wrestlers willing to give their lives in ECW for very little in return.

The greatest bull****ter I have ever come across and that's a compliment. If I was going to hell and I could only pick 1 guy to talk God around, I'd call Heyman.

Vince, I'm going to watch the ECW documentary DVD now just because of you and this thread! I haven't watched it since I first got it years ago. When ECW went under there were some guys owed thousands of dollars but I don't think many held a grudge. (Dudley Boys aside)

Make a post once you've re-watched it. Alot of things have happened since that dvd.

By a lot of things, do you mean the much maligned ECW 2.0? Yeah that was quite bad. At the very least I suppose it was something that WWE bought this footage and released about 30 matches on DVDs.

I didn't enjoy the documentary as much as I remember. It's got that awful bias you see in these WWE produced things - WCW was the bad guy for signing Eddie, Rey, Benoit and others while WWF wasn't because they were offering "oppurtunities" rather than raiding the talent pool; considering how awful the ECW wrestlers were handled in WWF it really was a shame. I must replace my copy of Forever Hardcore to get the other side of the story or to fill in the blanks, whichever.

Have Paul's opinions remained constant on the ECW of 1993-2001 or have his feelings changed?
