2142 First Strike Mod update soon

Apparently the latest update for First Strike is finally nearing completion.

If you have 2142 I reccomend you give it a go as it is essentially a free Battlefield type game with it's own unique classes (including a squad leader oriented Officer class). It also has space battle maps where you actually get to fly X-wings, tie fighters and all them star wars ships that I dont know the names of.

The only problem is that the number of players has dwindled to just a handfull over the last year but the update and lack of a new proper battlefield game might get some people playing again.

First Strike version 1.4 is out there for a while if you want to try out the game but, it might be a better idea to wait for the update when hopefully there should be a lot more people playing

The torrent here is the best place to get the First Strike 1.5 installer

You need to install 2142 and patch it to 1.5 first

To find servers, untick all the filters except Same Mod, Small, Medium and Large Maps

The Space battles alone make it worth the download
