RCTDC filled out incorrectly

Is there anyone that can tell me how to correct a mistake I made on two RCTDC forms for which I have paid the RCT for already.

I wrote out the paid figure in the tax deducted column and vice versa and sent them on to the subcontractors.

I have the sent the RCT30 form already but this figure is correct. The only mistake I made was on the RCTDC form itself.

One of the sub-contractors is returning the form back to me but the other one has sent it to the tax office already.

Will I be penalised for this? :(

Ring your local tax office's RCT section and quote RCTDC number and get them to stop the payment. They will be able to trace it via the number then you should reissue another RCTDC to the subbie with the correct RCT amounts.

Odats beat me too it... but seeing as I've it typed up :D

Contact and inform the Revenue straight away and you shouldn’t be penalised. You should be able to quote the RTCDC number to the Revenue. Also, let the contractor know you have informed the Revenue. The mistake you made would be nowhere near as bad as if the Revenue paid out based on this RCTDC form, as it should fail a logic test. As you know the sum withheld is based on a % and therefore the form submitted should be rejected. Should mind!

Thanks for the advice guys! I did as you said and everything is hunky dory and I'm not being penalised. Phew. Will definitely be more careful in the future :D
