Hi, would appreciate if anyone can help with this.

I'm trying to create a summary file that will update automatically from source files in excel, ie. I have numerous monthly data entry files that are seperate workbooks (and not worksheets) whose totals are updated within the same file, I want to link the totals of each of these files to a seperate file.

Can anyone explain how to do this?

    Thanks.

    IF I understand you right

copy the cell(s) that you want to link
open the new workbook and paste special (paste link)

This will stay up to date.
