HI, I was wondering does anyone know if any of the networks are selling the iPhone 4 on Pre Pay yet (apart from Vodafone)?

    Thanks

Three are selling the 32GB for €669.

Tbh, I would go direct to Apple because you're not getting a massive saving from the network and you'll get a phone that's SIM locked. Buy direct from Apple and your phone will be worth more when it comes time to upgrade.

exactly, i would rarther pay the extra 50e to get the factory unlocked one, that way when you go to sell it will be a definate sale imo and if you dont like it after a month or two you can sell on rarther easily.

Off apple.ie a sim free 16gb cost €599 but you have to wait 3 weeks. My brother went in to the carphonewharehouse Friday and bought one on O2 ready to go and it cost €579. He got the phone straight away so was happy but personally ive gone for ordering off apple to have sim free. The networks are looking for scandalous money for a phone you have to use on their network.

Tbh I smell a rat. Like, the networks have loads of them and Apple who make them have none!..yeah right!
I would quite believe that Apple, to keep on good terms with the networks in some way, are holding back so that people will pay for the pretty high payg versions, and that seems to be what is happening.

I'd urge caution going PAYG on the iPhone 4. I was but now I'm going to move to a SIM Only Bill Pay plan with Meteor (€30 per month, loads of inclusive minutes and 1GB of data). The iPhone is all about data and PAYG just doesn't offer good value for money.

ive said that in another thread, alot of PAYG users, not all of them might i add, seem to mis calclate the amount of data these phones use ie. push notifications, push email etc etc

now i know these can be turned off and that, but still.

on Meteor BP Smart Lite myself.

Thanks for all your posts. I'm not sure at the minute whether to go for three, or apple, to get the iPhone.
I currently have a 3GS (on o2), and its annoying paying 99c a day for the smallest of operations, such as checking emails, so Ive had to restrict my use of the internet.

Regardless if I get my phone on Pre Pay or from Apple, who would be the best network to settle with for internet?
3 seems good for €20 a month (free texts, 250MB etc), but is it as good as it seems?

Would that not be only over 3G instead of Wifi?

the 250mb with 3 costs € a month taken from your credit, vodafone have a similar data plan for PAYG its the 360 bundle but it cost just over €12 a moonth from your credit but it gives you 100mb a day to use and vodafone is prob the best network. its down as a promotional deal that ends the end of september but id imagine if your already on it you'll get to keep it.
