    Hi,

I have an unused fireplace, which is blowing dust and ash into the room and onto electronics. Beyond cleaning it and closing the flue, I'd like to buy a fireplace cover to put in front of it. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to where in Dublin I can buy one. I'm having a difficult time surprisingly

There is a company in Waterford who make fireplace covers that can have mirror, coloured glass or a picture in the front of them.

If you like I can put you in contact with them or PM their details so you can ring them.

Just let me know what you would like me to do.

    Hi Kitchen Expert

could I ask you to PM me this info also please?

Is it OK to block off the front of the fireplace? It won't cause problems with damp in the chimney or the like?

    Thanks

I had fireplaces blocked off in my house - in the bedrooms - and the builder put little vents into the cover.
