I was on dianette for nearly a year. I experienced many of the side affects so decided to come off it two weeks ago.
I'm now wondering what are the side affects of coming off such a strong pill?
I couldnt find much on the internet and I'd like to know what to expect..
    Thanks

have you asked your doctor or pharmacist?

generally speaking, you shouldnt stop prescription medication without discussing it with your doctor

I found when I switched was that I had a lot of break through bleeding until I got used to a lower progesteron pill. Id say it took 4 months for me, but everyone is different

I was on dianette too... for hmmm maybe a year or so... I had to go on it for acne... which I have to say it was brilliant for,,, but the side effects got too much .. ie moodswings. so I went off it... then about 3 months later my ancre started coming back again and then I decided to go back on it... the side effects I got this time were awful... I couldnt keep one pill down, I was constantly nauseous and felt awful all the time... not worth it in the end so went of it august last year... he he am now 9 months pregnant:) and have to say it was the best decision I made to go off the pill. the side effects are not worth it... plus my acne has completly disappeared with my pregnancy!!!! best of luck but maybe look into a less stronger pill... Before I went on to Dianette I was on microlite... found this quite good.. maybe you should look into it...

I was in Diannette because of acne and had a lot of side effects. My doc recommended a different pill that was still good for acne, but not as many side effects as Dianette. I *think* it was called Yasmin (I was on a good few pills over the years so can't remember which one it was). I had no side effects after the switch and my acne didn't come back (til I came off the pill altogether, but that's another story!)

Talk to your GP, they might be able to recommend something suitable for your needs. It might take a bit of trial and error, but you'll get it right in the end.
